ADOLESCENT RESOURCE CENTER

Helping to encourage a healthy transition from adolescence to adulthood

Adolescence is characterized by many stressors, including physical changes, school transitions, evolving relationships with friends and parents, involvement in romantic relationships, and difficult decision-making. Most youth are able to successfully navigate the challenges with a few bumps along the way. While others who grow up homeless, have behavior disorders, live with parents with a substance use disorder, or have severe trauma in childhood have a much more difficult path through adolescence.

The Adolescent Resource Center (ARC) is an early intervention and prevention program for St. Louis County adolescents ages 12-19 with substance use and/or mental health disorders, as well as those who are at-risk of developing disorders or risky behaviors. All services are confidential and free of charge.

ARC promotes the holistic growth and development of at-risk youth by engaging them in individual and group psycho-educational and therapeutic counseling sessions to help encourage a healthy transition from adolescence to adulthood.
