The Recovery Community Center at Visitation provides a safe place for Queen of Peace Center clients in recovery to access recovery support services such as family and social support, mutual-aid, recreation, employment and vocational assistance and financial counseling. The Recovery Community Center is staffed by peer specialists and clinical staff and serves as an after-care and recovery support program for clients in need of additional services.
The Recovery Community Center is defined by The Connecticut Community of Addiction Recovery (CCAR) as a “recovery-oriented sanctuary anchored in the heart of the community.”
It exists to put a face on addiction recovery, to build “recovery capital” in individuals, families and communities and to serve as a physical location to organize the local recovery community’s ability to care.
