A stylish group of St. Philippine Home ladies attended the Black Rep presentation of “Insideous” at The Grandel Theatre on Thursday evening, June 21, 2012.
The play was an excellent presentation with subject matter very relevant to recovery and the disease of addiction. The playwright, Ibn Shabazz, eloquently explored the territory of HIV-AIDS, relationships, recovery, and the insidious nature of the disease of addiction in his amazing play. Program Supervisor Lauren Meyer-Banks and CSW Khadija Muhammad accompanied the group on the outing. Some of the women had never seen live theater and everyone was very impressed with the experience. Our beautiful clean and sober women represented St. Philippine Home with grace and dignity, and I was very proud to accompany them. I am sure St. Philippine Home will be attending many more performances in the future!
